Challenges Facing European Monetary Union

 

On December 3, the Polytechnic of Leiria hosted the “Meeting with Citizens” to debate “Challenges in European Monetary Union“. The initiative was held at the School of Technology and Management to debate the future of Europe. The event count with the participation of Maria João Rodrigues, member of the European Parliament and Ana Paula Zacarias, secretary of State of European Affairs.

“Meeting with Citizens” is a project of the Portuguese Government promoted in the framework of the EU Citizens’ Consultations Initiative developing among 27 Member States until the end of the year. The several actions are coordinated by the Secretary of State for European Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Jacques Delors European Information Center, the Diplomatic Institute, the European Commission Representation in Portugal and other entities.

The initiative aims to encourage the democratic and civic participation of citizens at EU level engaging them to European elections scheduled for May 2019.
