Flood events are one of the natural disasters with the greatest social and economic impact. FFAS research project, “Forecasting and Flood Alert System for the urban area of Águeda”, funded by the 2020 Center, and in which the researcher Sandra Mourato from our School of Technology and Management participates, intends to create a system of prediction and real-time flood warning.

This work, currently ongoing and to be concluded in March 2019, has been heavily promoted in various social media, ensuring adequate results dissemination and, more importantly, awareness of flooding problem and the importance that applied scientific research has to solve this and other problems of society.

Congratulations to the team!
