Leiria elected as one of the best cities to live, study and work

The latest ranking (2017) from Bloom Consulting has been released. Looking at 308 portuguese cities, the ranking takes into account the following criteria: “business”, “tourism” and “quality of life” and Leiria stands out as the third best city in center region to live, ranked seventh on the national level.

Leiria’s position in the “top ten” confirms that the city continues to add value for all its inhabitants and other people who seek it. These factors, result  in recognition and visibility by the Portuguese population. 
In the general classification, which meets all three criteria, the city occupies fifteenth position.

A Place to Learn and Teach

This region, where the sea is always present, is considered particularly interesting to live, study and work, not only for the quality of the economic and material resources, but also for its richness and natural beauty.  Besides quality of life, the city  also provides to all young people who wish to study in higher education a quality education by  it’s training offer.
Leiria is the capital district, the city that hosts the headquarters and three higher schools of the Polytechnic of Leiria: School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS), the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) and the School of Health ( ESSLei). A little further south you may find Caldas da Rainha a thermal town, artistic and
cultural by excellence where the School of de Arts and Design (ESAD.CR) is located  and Peniche the most western city in Europe where you may find School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM). From here you can admire the Berlenga Island, a wonderful natural scenery, of calm and crystalline waters. Area of an outstanding natural beauty, with rare and exotic geological formations, sculpted by the sea, Peniche is ideal for water sports, with special emphasis on  surf.
