Google has launched Atelier Digital Portugal along with IPLeiria

Google has announced the launch of Atelier Digital, which is an online platform dedicated to train young people in the most requested digital skills in the job market. Google intends to equip them with the necessary tools to take advantage of the opportunities given by digital economy. The project, which has the support of Coordinating Council of the Polytechnic Institutes ( CCISP ), Science, Technology and Higher Education Secretary and SIC Esperança, wants to contribute to improve entrepreneurship in Portugal. The ceremony was held at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, and was attended by the CEO of Google Portugal, Bernardo Correia, Francisco Ruiz, General Manager of Institutional Affairs of Google Iberia and Science, Technology and Higher Education Secretary, Maria Fernanda Rollo.
The Polytechnic of Leiria is one of the three institutions selected to integrate this pioneering phase of the project in Portugal, along with the Polytechnic of Setúbal and the University of Aveiro, in a partnership that aims to cover online training and face-to-face training of young people in the digital skills necessary for digital economy.

Google has explained that ” will be given in these institutions a three-day course by experts in the digital areas, in a total of 24 hours of training”, and the idea is to extend the initiative” across the country and reach as many students as possible with on-site courses. Even though it is in Setúbal, for example, it is open to people from other colleges. We want people to come and meet each other. The networking is very important, ” added marketing manager of Google Portugal, Ana Ravara.
