Student Card
A Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) is responsible for issuing the Identification Cards for the entire academic community of the Polytechnic University of Leiria (mandatory and free). The card is issued upon request after enrollment is confirmed by the School. You can choose between:
- Simple Identification Card (No need to open a bank account or get a debit card).
- Identification Card linked to a bank account with Caixa (offering various additional benefits)
(Note: The Student Card should preferably be processed online.)
Benefits
- Serves as a rechargeable card for payment of meals and groceries;
- Verifies your status as a student/staff member of Higher Education;
- Provides access to discounts through agreements with the Polytechnic University of Leiria and other partners (transportation, cinemas, etc.).

Tips for New Students
- 1. Students at the Polytechnic University of Leiria have access to an email account at webmail.my.ipleiria.pt (username: student_number@my.ipleiria.pt).
- 2. Free Wi-Fi is available in all schools, residences, cafeterias, and areas of the Polytechnic University of Leiria. Learn how to set it up, along with your email at www.ipleiria.pt/dsi;
- 3. Access the Academic Management Services, check your schedule in AGCP, and view calendars and assessment results at www.ipleiria.pt/estudantes;
- 4. Discover the canteens and cafeterias available at all campuses. Head to a cafeterias to collect your tag for free, which grants access to the food services and the SIGA portal. portal SIGA;
- 5. Check information about scholarships , the FASE® program, and housing at the Social Services, which also offer Medical Services (at reduced prices) and sports activities.
- 6. The institution offers a wide range of cultural activities.

- 8. Challenge yourself and enroll in free online courses.
- 9. All course units have a space on Moodle. Access www.ead.ipleiria.pt to view information and materials provided by your professors.
- 10. To explore the books and resources available in the libraries, you don’t need to leave home: simply click on the online catalog at www.sdoc.ipleiria.pt;
- 11. Through the Student Support Center, you can receive personal and social guidance, psychological support, and career counseling.
