School of Tourism and Maritime Technology Recognised with the Biosphere CERTIFIED Seal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM)<\/strong><\/a> of the Polytechnic University of Leiria<\/strong> has been awarded the Biosphere CERTIFIED seal<\/a>,<\/strong> an international certification<\/strong> that recognises the commitment of institutions aligning their activities with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong> <\/a>outlined in the 2030 Agenda set by the United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone marks the result of a journey that began on Earth Day, <\/strong><\/a>April 22, 2024, when ESTM<\/strong> signed a cooperation agreement with Biosphere Portugal<\/strong>, initiating the process for Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle<\/strong> certification. Granted by Biosphere Portugal, this certification allows ESTM to join a network of institutions committed to reducing environmental impact, promoting social development, and valuing local culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Biosphere CERTIFIED distinction<\/strong> positions ESTM as a leading institution in the field of sustainability, enhancing its visibility on national and international <\/strong>platforms and reinforcing its institutional commitment to implementing actions that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,<\/strong> while also ensuring comprehensive training for its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
