Culture Law and Project Financing: Culture, City Creation and Economic Development with Carlos Martins and Ana Umbelino

Programmed by the students of the 3rd year of the Cultural Programming and Production course, this cycle opens with the theme “Culture, City Creation and Economic Development”, which will discuss issues around the democratization of Culture and how it can be a central area of a city’s economic development. The  “European Capital of Culture” and the cultural policy of the Torres Vedras City Council will be presented. The speakers of this first cycle will be Ana Umbelino and Carlos Martins.

Ana Umbelino is City Councilor of Culture of Torres Vedras, Master in Educational Sciences, she is part of the Consultative Group for Roma Communities in Portugal, representing the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities. 
Carlos Martins is President of Opium – Agency for the Development of Creative Industries of the North Region and Member of the National Council of Culture, Arts section. He was executive director of Guimarães European Capital of Culture 2012.
