Filipa Pontes: self-ethnography in artistic practices

Filipa Pontes is a Portuguese visual artist and researcher. She connects art practice with a socially engaged perspective rooted in reflexivity and with a decolonial approach. She works mainly with drawing to create performances, installations and artist books. Filipa also works as an independent curator and as a professor. In the last ten years, she has been working internationally in countries such as Spain, Mozambique, Brazil, China, Norway and Germany. Filipa holds a PhD in Fine Arts in Practice, pursues a degree in Graphic Design and postgraduation in Creative Illustration. Currently lives between Berlin and Lisbon.
