Jāzeps Podnieks – Latvia Awards
The Erasmus student Jāzeps Podnieks (Latvian Academy of Culture, Latvia), directed and starred, in Portuguese language, a film, in which also participated, among others, another Erasmus student, A. Sebastian Holmlund (University of Bergen – Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, Norway), also speaking in Portuguese.
The film was made in the scope of the UC “Sound and Image Project II”, of the 2nd year of Sound and Image and the filming took place in Viana do Castelo.
In spite of bad omens and the upcoming storm, the fisherman sets out to the sea and doesn’t return. The wife of the fisherman becomes haunted with inner turmoil and deceptions of reality, while searching for the storm whisperer who could calm down the sea and return the fisherman home.
