
Crossroads between Fine Arts and programming language

This open class promotes creative exploration of the Processing programming language, combining art and technology. Here, students are invited to experiment, test and deconstruct visual languages through code, in an exploratory environment. The activity promotes individual expression and the discovery of new ways of thinking and creating animation, combining technical and artistic knowledge. This interdisciplinary approach is intended to enhance knowledge in a constructive way where technology is at the service of creating images, imagery and visual narratives.
Ph.D. in Communication Sciences, in the area of Media and Journalism, from the University of Minho (2017), with a Ph.D. scholarship from FCT, she was invited as a Ph.D. student by the Department of Education – Interactive Media, from the University of Oslo (2014). Her academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Digital Art and Technology and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Visual Arts in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education and a Degree in Drawing. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic of Leiria and was an Adjunct Professor at the Upper School of Arts and Design at the same Polytechnic. She was an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Arts and Multimedia Department at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Educativas do Douro. Her teaching career also included a spell at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, in the Master of Engineering in Digital Game Development.
Besides her teaching and research activity, she was also the Creative Director of the company AM Experience Group. At the level of creative activity, she develops artistic projects in the field of Digital Art, where she works on Gender Issues and Human Rights. In the territory of research explores issues related to projects of Interactive Media, Design, Communication, and Education. Besides her professional activities, she embraces solidarity projects and makes photography her favorite hobby.
