RESEARCH SEMINAR OPEN CLASSES
OCTOBER 28TH OF 2025, 2.30PM
ROOM 19 EP.2 – ESAD.CR

What is the potential performative efficacy of images and sounds when we speak of cinema labeled as political or experimental? Starting from the films of the Dziga Vertov Group—a brief yet productive collective animated primarily by Jean-Luc Godard and Jean-Pierre Gorin—I will discuss the films of this and other collectives, considering their approaches, methodologies, transmissions, and translations. I propose to reflect on the artistic possibilities opened by the conceptual and procedural displacements of these cinemas, as well as on the resonances of this research in my own work.
