Artistic residency for the students of Social Arts Practices at the Escola do Parque

The artistic residency is part of the objectives of the Plan for Gender Equality, Non-Discrimination, and Inclusion 2024-2028 of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, focused on dimension 6: integration of gender into teaching and research, involving students and the community. The Social Artistic Practices course integrates the dimensions of gender, non-discrimination, and inclusion into its syllabus.

The artistic residency will be divided into three stages: research based on the material and imaterial heritage of the place—a primary school inaugurated before the Estado Novo and deactivated in 2011, a binary space separated by male and female sexes. This will be followed by fieldwork, exploring various aspects of the construction of the collaborative and participatory work with communities in Caldas da Rainha. The final stage will involve sharing the processes, objects, and conclusions of the residency period.
