With each step a constellation

23 NOVEMBER // AUDITORIUM EP.1 // 17:30

Walking is a form of movement associated with a desire for a journey that can only be satisfied by the act of setting one’s own body in motion. This movement of the body, as well as the events and sensitive details of the environment we travel through and in which we are immersed, intensify the affections and sensitivities of those who walk. At the same time, they set thought in motion, reflecting in multiple ways the facticity of the spaces, beings and things with which we share the world. This consonance between the outer and the inner path associated with the experience of walking makes it possible for memories and desires to glow and for new and unexpected connections to be woven in the imagination and in thought.  I have turned the act of walking into an experimental and artistic practice, calling upon slowness, walking for the pleasure of walking and a set of practices of attention that intensify the sensitive experience, in the construction of performative and sonorous paths. Starting from the presentation of some examples, I propose a shared reflection on walking as a journey that articulates several paths, those that the feet tread and those that the mind excavates, weaves and invents.
