In an open class with Pedro Nora (1977), a Portuguese visual artist and graphic designer, he will explore the different meanings and experiences of his work and career. As part of a multifaceted journey, the guest will talk about graphic solutions, graphic objects, books, publishing, art, culture, collaboration and friendship. The class will take place in room 36 of the EP, at 6:30 pm, on November 22nd and is part of the program of the Contemporary Graphic Design Studies Curricular Unit I of the Master’s in Graphic Design.

Pedro Nora (1977, Vila Nova de Gaia)
Graphic designer graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (1995-2001). Since 2001, he has been working in the cultural area, specializing in graphic design for contemporary art exhibitions, editorial design and artist book design.
Among its institutional collaborations, the following stand out: Teatro Nacional São João, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Fundação de Serralves, Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira, Culturgest, Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea do Chiado, Museu Berardo, Câmara Municipal do Porto, Guimarães 2012 – European Capital of Culture, Centro Cultural Vila Flor, Kunsthalle Lissabon, ESAD (higher school of arts and design in Matosinhos), Associação Casa da Arquitectura, Casa da Música, MARCO – Museum of contemporary art in Vigo (Spain), Moderna Museet Malmö (Sweden), Kunsthalle de Basel (Switzerland), Palais de Tokyo (France) and Bergen Kunsthall (Norway).
He regularly collaborates with publishers Dafne, Ghost, Pierre von Kleist and in author editions by artists Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela. He was co-editor of the magazine “Satélite Internacional” (2002-2005), of the publisher Braço de Ferro – arte & design (2007-2011), of the newspaper “Buraco” (2011-2019). He was part of the Oficina ARARA collective between 2014 and 2020. In 2020 he started the FOJO editorial project. Between 2017 and 2020 he designed the graphic project “Conversas/Conversations” for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Between 2012 and 2022 he was responsible for the graphic identity of the Doclisboa international film festival. Since 2011 he has been the designer of the Imago collection of the KKYM editorial project. Since 2022 he has been the communication designer at Teatro Nacional São João.
