‘Hotel Fonte’ presents some of the highly eclectic projects he has developed over the last few years, including publications, painting, drawing, etc., all of which share a common theme of political analysis and questioning of contemporary society.
Open class – In the context of Fonte Santa, he habitually appropriates images — from comics to newspapers, from painting to photography, from popular iconography to cinema — from which he questions meanings, affiliations, sensibilities and identities. He has been exhibiting regularly since the mid-1990s.

João Fonte Santa is one of the most representative artists of his generation. His work addresses the incessant multiplication of image-producing instances, the modalities of their circulation in mass culture, and the ideological legibility of these processes of creation and dissemination. In his work, Fonte Santa habitually appropriates images — from comics to newspapers, from painting to photography, from popular iconography to cinema — from which he questions meanings, affiliations, sensibilities, and identities. He has exhibited regularly since the mid-1990s.
