Mingyu Wu

The presentation entitled ‘Aximático’, delivered as part of the Ceramics Workshop course module, will focus on the ceramic works that make up the artistic journey of the artist Mingyu Wu, from 2022 to the present day, with a particular emphasis on the exhibition ‘Questões Celestiais’ currently on display at the Boavista Gallery, EGEAC Municipal Galleries.
By addressing conceptual, formal and technical aspects, the presentation will demonstrate how these aspects relate to one another, providing an overview of the process and the work of this artist.

Mingyu Wu was born in the People’s Republic of China in 1978 and has lived in Portugal since 1989. After briefly studying Civil Engineering at the Catholic University and completing a vocational course at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, she graduated in Philosophy from the New University of Lisbon. She has taught Chinese and worked as a translator.
She completed the three-year ceramics course at Ar.Co and continued her studies on the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at the same institution with the Graça Costa Cabral scholarship in 2024, and is currently in her final year.
