Open class with the visual artist Sara Bichão, whose artistic practice, focused on sculpture, drawing, and performance art, has been accompanied by an experimental writing style. The session will take place in the Project workshops, where the artist and the supervising professor will lead a conversation with the students about their ongoing works in the Project course unit, with the aim of developing their ability to verbally express their motivations, as well as describe and problematize them.
Sara Bichão lives and works in Lisbon. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon (2008, 2011). Since 2016, she has participated in several artistic residencies in Mexico, France (Lyon, Troyes, Paris, Ouessant, Brest), Portugal (Ponta Delgada, Póvoa de Varzim, Funchal) and New York. She has been exhibiting since 2009 and her works are in several private and institutional collections in Portugal and abroad.
