THE HOME PROJECT Design Studio Founded by Álbio Nascimento and Kathi Stertzig in 2005, The Home Project is a design studio with extensive and recognised experience in design oriented traditional craft production. THP has been defining and consolidating its own methodologies in specific areas of intervention, in work that is based on the vernacular and on low-tech techniques. The core idea of THP’s work is an integrated and total design practice, based on the research, problematisation and stabilisation of cultural heritage. It proposes an authentic and sustainable material culture, which values traditional know-how – because it is part of it – and promotes reflection on conscious consumption. With activity already consolidated, The Home Project has become a reference in the implementation of local development projects in the context of responsible design: it provides strategic consultancy, in contexts of craft production and regional development, for public and private, national and international institutions.
