The Programme in Artistic Creation is a doctoral programme of the University of Aveiro in association with the Polytechnic University of Leiria and the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. This Doctoral Programme promotes a transdisciplinary strategy for the development of experimental creative thinking, welcoming candidates with an interest in creative practices, namely in the areas of Fine Arts, Sonic Arts, Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre and Music.

Both at the UA and at the partner institutions of this cycle of studies, classes in the various above referred contexts will be guaranteed by artists, professionals, researchers and teachers of recognized national and international merit; thus, students will have a unique opportunity to study artistic creation in an environment of academic and professional excellence. The created network of institutions and teachers and the structure of the study plan allows a form of teaching-learning, supervision and customised research anchored in facilities, technical workshops and various research centres that will contribute to a unique intellectual and creative environment nationally and internationally.
