up to 200 Mbytes);<\/li><li>Motivation Letter;<\/li><li>Transcript of Records;<\/li><li>Scan of the passport OR ID card;<\/li><li>1 passport size photo;<\/li><li>Proof of language proficiency (statement from Home Institution confirming the student\u2019s level of English);<\/li><li>Scan of the health insurance (European Health Insurance Card).<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-23 wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-container-21 wp-block-column\">\n<h4><strong>LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-22 wp-block-column\">\n<p>Language of instruction 1: Portuguese;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Language of instruction 2: English (B1 level).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Classes are taught in Portuguese although lecturers are able to provide lessons explanations in English, as well as, briefing writing assignments for evaluation and textbooks in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exchange Students have the opportunity to attend, along each semester, a \u201cPortuguese Language Course\u201d (\u201cPLC\u201d). The course is structured according to the Bologna Process, which will give to the students, the opportunity of crediting (4 ECTS). The course has a unique 50 Euros fee.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-26 wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-container-24 wp-block-column\">\n<h4><strong>STUDY PLAN<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-25 wp-block-column\">\n<p>Exchange students are allowed to attend subjects (classes) from different years and\/or study programs as long as they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Do not exceed a total of 30 ECTS;<\/li><li>Do not exceed 20% of the total of the ECTS (20% x 30 ECTS= 6 ECTS) in subjects (classes) outside from the area of studies to which they have applied;<\/li><li>Have permission from the Receiving Institution\/Host Coordinators and from the Home Coordinators.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-29 wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-container-27 wp-block-column\">\n<h4><strong>PORTUGUESE GRADING SYSTEM<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-28 wp-block-column\">\n<p>The basic Portuguese grading system consists on a 0 to 20 scale as described below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>0 &#8211; 09 Fail \u2013 considerable further work is required;<\/li><li>10-11 Sufficient &#8211; performance meets the minimum criteria;<\/li><li>12-13 Satisfactory &#8211; fair but with some shortcomings;<\/li><li>14-16 Good &#8211; above the average standard;<\/li><li>17-18 Very Good &#8211; notable work with minor errors;<\/li><li>19-20 Excellent &#8211; outstanding performance.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-32 wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-container-30 wp-block-column\">\n<h4><strong>ACCOMMODATION<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-31 wp-block-column\">\n<p>In Caldas da Rainha, there is one all-female hall and one all-male hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The residences halls have central heating, a computer room and common kitchen. Each student is provided with bed sheets, blankets\/duvets, a pillow and bath towels. The laundry service for the provided linen is guaranteed by the Students\u2019 Support Services free of charge and students may resort to the self-service laundry to take care of their own personal clothing (washing and drying).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students have access to cooking facilities (micro-waves, freezer and cooker) but no utilities are provided.
