Open lecture with visual artist Laurent Faulon (Nevers, 1969), focused on his artistic practice, which is developed through installations, often ephemeral in nature and strongly connected to their context.
Exploring his extensive body of work, usually associated with the occupation of non-places (vacant lots, construction sites, offices, factories, or abandoned dwellings), the lecture will emphasize the tension between the public and private dimensions of his locally, regionally, and globally oriented projects. It will delve into the questions of space, economy, politics, and society that are inherent to his multidisciplinary practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laurent Faulon<\/strong> was born in 1969, and lives and works in Geneva. He is known for performances that critique the subjugation of the body to various forms of discipline, for his analysis of the consumer economy, and for his “desiring machines” that invert the logic of this economy. His work has been exhibited in various contexts, such as the Fondation Cartier, Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art Moderne de Paris, Mamco (Geneva), Printemps de Septembre in Toulouse, Macro (Rome), Stadtgalerie in Saarbr\u00fccken and Backnang, Villa Ar\u00e7on in Nice, and MAC (Lyon). In parallel, he collaborates with Swiss artist Delphine Reist in the conception of exhibitions, residencies, and artistic events involving other artists. He teaches at the Annecy School of Art in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
