We build stories of what we experience or intend to live and\/or what we believe can or cannot be turned into fiction.
Along a thread of time, we find common references and unravel the thread of a narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mariana Viegas <\/strong>was born in Lisbon in 1969 and lives and works in Arr\u00e1bida.
She completed the Advanced Course in Fine Arts and the Photography Course at Ar.Co. Her journey began in the 1990s with Revista Kapa<\/em>. As a set photographer, she worked with Madragoa\/Gemini Films alongside Pedro Costa, Raquel Freire, Margarida Gil, Manoel de Oliveira, Jo\u00e3o C\u00e9sar Monteiro, Jo\u00e3o Botelho, among others. Her work has been published by Ass\u00edrio & Alvim, Di\u00e1rio de Not\u00edcias<\/em>, P\u00fablico<\/em>, Marie Claire<\/em>, Grande Reportagem<\/em>, Le Monde<\/em>, Lib\u00e9ration<\/em>, and Les Inrockuptibles<\/em>. She was a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation grantee for Location1 in New York (2006\/2007). Her project received support from DGArtes in 2009. She was an artist-in-residence at the E. Schiele Foundation in the Czech Republic, GlougAir in Berlin, and at Fabrikken for Kunst og Design in Copenhagen. Her work is represented in several collections: Novo Banco Photo, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Leal Rios, PLMJ, Instituto do Livro (Lisbon), Tr\u00f3ia Design Hotel, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Il\u00eddio Pinho (Porto), Museu da Imagem (Braga), Duvernois Landscape St. (NY), Museu de Arte do Rio (Rio de Janeiro), and private collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
