Internal Quality Assurance System – SIGQ/IPLeiria
Internal quality assurance activities are of central and strategic importance for IPLeiria.
The Internal Quality Assurance System – SIGQ / IPLeiria – consists in the definition of strategies and quality assurance policies of the study cycles, as well as the adequate procedures and tools for its implementation, in order to promote continuous improvement.
The Support Manual to the Quality Assurance System lays the foundation of the whole system, defining and characterizing the main mechanisms, processes and stakeholders.
The SIGQ / IPLeiria is a dynamic and interactive system, so all questions and suggestions are welcome.
Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education – A3ES
All IPLeiria courses meet the legal requirements and are accredited by A3ES. Detailed information about accreditation can be found in each course’s page.
European University Association – EUA
In 2007 IPLeiria submitted to an external evaluation by the European University Association (EUA).
This process led to a report containing 23 recommendations that IPLeiria should implement or reinforce within a short period of time. The main areas covered by the recommendations were: the strategic plan, government and management, Bologna and internationalization, teaching, learning and courses and quality assurance.
After this first phase, the Institute decided to endure a follow-up evaluation in 2010.
The final report was very positive, highlighting the development achieved since the first evaluation and concluding that IPLeiria had turned into reality most of the initial recommendations.
