The portrait of a father as seen through the eyes of his daughter by means of a photo album. A travel diary from the 1970s, starting in Japan and around the world. Father and daughter cross views on the memories of the old images and words, sharing the will to bring them to the present day.

There will be a brief introduction to the director’s previous and subsequent work, in particular the films Yama no Anata (2011) and Time Takes a Cigarette (2024);

This will be followed by a sharing of the inspirations and working methodologies of the creative process of Around the World When You Were my Age, namely the choice of theme and the film’s narrative; the aesthetic and formal choices, with regard to archive photographs and the narrator’s personal diary, the use of  film stock and the musical and sound choices that make up the movie; a description of the process of making the film and the time taken for each creative stage, from writing to recording the voice-over, filming (how the image and sound were recorded), editing, ending with colour correction and sound mixing.
