Edições Sr Teste – Letter, book, collection
“This is my letter to the world”

Catarina Domingues

OPEN CLASS
MAY 6TH, 2.30PM
ROOM 5 EP.1

Catarina Domingues Graduated in Fine Arts (ESAD.CR), works with drawing and self-publishing of books reflecting on the feminine as opening and birth. Her images are about the awareness that the body we are does not belong to us, a body pierced by the joy of being now (a moment in which the future is radically unknown). Such recognition requires human action: thinking, living actively. The drawings arise from the astonishment at what exists and could not exist: the astonishment of not knowing the origin. She started the Sr Teste Editions in 2019 with Ricardo Ribeiro. The “Fulgor Quotidiano” collection was born from a desire to share an intimate library made up of their favorite authors, thus weaving a web of connections of sensitive thought. These dialogues are exponentiated in the reading relationships that have been created with invited visual artists.

Plural Futures

Nina Paim

OPEN CLASS
MAY 6TH, 3.30PM
ROOM 51 EP.1

The Curricular Unit Seminar of the Industrial Design Degree is once again taking over ESAD.CR’s informal spaces to welcome guests to debate “Plural Futures” and the changing thinking and matrices of intersectionality in the discipline of design, questioning its implications in the contemporary world and using design and its creations to inspire emerging reflections.
Each seminar is a space for meeting, listening to and discovering the guest and their work, but also for projecting these contributions to the next steps in the students’ journey and to design research.
