T ermo — approaching printmaking as a situated and constrained practice proposes a working method rooted in time and place, where the medium and the surface are constructed. Through technical demonstrations and discussion, the workshop explores in situ lithography and the creation of a paper laboratory, bringing together artistic practice and research.

Associate Professor with full professorial status at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto (FBAUP), where she is a member of the Institute for Research in Art, Design and Society (i2ADS). She holds a PhD in Drawing from the University of the Basque Country and an MA in Printmaking from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London (United Kingdom). She is dedicated to the study of printmaking practices, artist’s editions, technological archaeology and the history of the printed image. She coordinates the Pure Print Archaeology interest group (i2ADS), developing reconstructive methodologies applied to archives and collections in Portugal. She coordinated the SHS – Soil, Health and Surrounding project at FBAUP, including the publication of the book Couzas e Pilhas (2023) and participation in associated exhibitions and publications. Since 2001, she has undertaken artistic and research residencies at national and international institutions, notably at the Typa Printing and Paper Art Centre (Tartu), the Franz Masereel Centrum (Belgium), Art Studio Itsukaichi (Japan) and the Münchner Künstlerhaus (Munich, 2025).
She is the promoter and coordinator of the Atelier Nomade: in situ lithography project, part of the Erasmus+ Arts & Crafts Aujourd’hui programme. In 2025, she coordinated the corresponding Erasmus+ BIP, delivering workshops on lithography and handmade paper production. As a visiting lecturer, she has taught and shared her research at institutions such as the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the University of Granada, the University of Vigo, Oslo National Academy of the Arts e Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design (Wroclaw).
