WORKSHOP
MARCH 11TH TO 14TH, 2024 CERAMICS, PLASTER AND GLASS WORKSHOP & ROOM 12 (COMMON LAB FOR EXPERIMENTATION AND DIALOGUE)

This workshop provided students with a comprehensive introduction to glaze chemistry, raw materials, recipe sourcing, mixing, application and firing. Students were introduced to a wide variety of surface types and developed their own recipes through various lab-based methods – testing colour ranges, progression and spectrum blends. Students were provided with the resources to source their own recipes and the skills to further develop and define surface qualities for their studio practice. The workshops were primarily lab based, with an emphasis on efficient use of material resources for contemporary studio practice.
