Conference with Cecília Costa

In order to share, with current ESAD.CR students, different paths and experiences of alumni who attended the same school we invited the artist Cecília Costa (Caldas da Rainha, 1971). 

Cecília Costa studied Mathematics (University of Aveiro) and Visual Arts (ESAD.CR, 2001), her work arises from a reflection between these two areas. The artist has exhibited regularly since 1997 at venues such as the Sydney Biennial, Australia, in 2004, selected by the curator Isabel Carlos (CAM-FCG). Among collective and solo exhibitions, there are Impressions and Comments, curated by João Fernandes, Sala Parpalló, Valencia, Spain (2010); Options and Futures. Works of the PLMJ Foundation Collection, curated by Miguel Amado at the City Museum, Lisbon (2009); The Present: An Infinite Dimension, curated by Maria de Corral, Belém Cultural Center, Lisbon (2008); XX – Visions in the Feminine, curated by Delfim Sardo, CAV, Coimbra (2006); Portugal: Some figures, curated by João Pinharanda, LLA – Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Mexico City (2005).

Cecília Costa’s work is represented in the collections PLMJ Foundation, Leal Rios Foundation and Gulbenkian Museum – Modern Collection.
