Virtual Reality for behavioural Change

A workshop for students which will demonstrate how VR is used to represent issues such as refugees and migration and how this can be used to develop positive attitudes and behaviour towards issues and people. The workshop will also look at the process of developing a VR application which encourages young people to engage with sports. This will look particularly at an application to simulate water sports and introduce a project which looks at introducing hurling.

Paul Keating has a strong commitment to locally driven rights based approach to development. He’s particularly interested in mechanisms for encouraging the emergence of progressive movements for social change and sustainable development. In this context his research is looking at the potential role of digital games as a means of undertaking development education.
