No dia 04 de dezembro tem lugar uma Aula Aberta, no Anfiteatro,  com João L.Saraiva, do CCMAR – Universidade do Algarve, subordinada ao tema “Mind the Fish Minds: Uma perspectiva integradora do Bem-Estar Animal”.

Short Bio

João L. Saraiva graduated in Biology in 2000 by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, completed his MSc in Ethology in 2004 at ISPA-IU (Lisbon, Portugal) and his PhD in Aquatic Sciences in 2009 at the University of Porto (Portugal). He is an invited lecturer of Ethology at University of Algarve (Portugal), Principal Investigator of the Fish Ethology and Welfare Group at the Center of Marine Sciences (Faro, Portugal) and president of the Fish Etho Group Association. João’s main focus is in the application of ethological knowledge into the assessment and improvement of the welfare of aquatic animals. João authored over 70 scientific publications and was editor of a book on fish welfare. He has also participated in several national and international projects throughout his career, both as partner and as PI. João works as a researcher in the areas of behaviour and welfare of aquatic species, coordinates training programs in these areas and performs consultancy work for European Union official bodies and other international companies and institutions.
