SESSÃO DE ESCLARECIMENTO / ONLINE MEETING – 8 MARCH (18H00)

We invite you to participate in the Online Session that will take place on the 8th of March, at 18h00, to introduce you to the Student Council of the European University RUN-EU.

This will be important for you to better understand how RUN-EU works and to know the opportunities that are available for you.
You can be part of this ‘network’ of students from the different countries that make up the European University.

Led by the Polytechnic of Leiria, the Regional University Network – European University (RUN-EU) is a network of Higher Education Institutions with a regional focus committed to societal transformation in the context of new and emerging regional and global challenges, in particular with sustainable development.

RUN-EU it is based on four main management structures, including a Student Council.

STUDENT COUNCIL

What is the Role?

  • Student Council will strategically advise the work of the RUN-EU European University Management, with an emphasis on the student engagement activities, inclusion, and multiculturalism;
  • Student Council will advise on the implementation and format of the mobility innovative programs, Short-Advanced Programs, and Collaborative European Degrees, among others;
  • Student Council will work both at an institutional/regional level, as well as at an European level (RUN-EU).

How many members and what kind of activities will be done?

  • At the regional level, the local Student Council will be composed of 15 students;
  • Student Council will meet every three months to review and advise on the RUN-EU strategy, achievements, and its impact at the institutional level;
  • The members of the RUN-EU Student Council will meet annually in the RUN-EU Student Week that will be used as a venue to promote multiculturalism and multilingualism, in a unique International, diverse and inclusive environment. The Student Council will integrate students from all RUN-EU member countries: Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands and Austria.

TAKE NOTE: All national and international students from the Polytechnic of Leiria who attend a Technical Higher Professional Course (TESP), an Undergraduate Degree or Master’s Degree are eligible.

European Universities

In 2020, the European Commission announced that higher education institutions across Europe can be part of the “European Universities” alliances. The Regional University Network – European University (RUN-EU), led by the Polytechnic of Leiria, was one of the winning applications.

The main objective of European Universities, including RUN-EU, is to build a European Education Area that increases quality and makes European higher education more appealing.
