Open Staff Week on EU Projects in Higher Education

The Polytechnic University of Leiria is organizing a new edition of its Open Staff Week, under the theme “EU Projects in Higher Education: Funding Opportunities and Management”, taking place from 4 to 8 May, 2026.

This international training initiative is specifically designed for higher education staff involved in the planning, management, and development of EU-funded projects. Throughout the week, participants will attend workshops and training sessions scheduled primarily in the mornings, with flexibility for independent activities in the afternoons. The programme provides a practical and comprehensive introduction to Project Cycle Management (PCM), along with essential tools and methodologies to support the successful implementation of European projects. This course is particularly relevant for university administrators, project officers, financial managers, and professionals involved in strategic planning and institutional development. Participants will gain valuable insights into both the technical and financial dimensions of EU project management, including risk identification and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, participants will also develop practical skills in designing, monitoring, and evaluating tools to ensure transparency, accountability, and project success.

  • Learn communication and dissemination requirements;
  • Prepare for EU audits and understand related obligations;
