Translation and Interpretation Portuguese/Chinese – Chinese/Portuguese
Programme Introduction
The degree in Translation and Interpretation Portuguese-Chinese/Chinese-Portuguese conveys both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of translation and interpretation of the Portuguese and Chinese languages and prepares students for a future career in the translation industry. Furthermore, it promotes language acquisition as well as the ability to reflect on both languages, in addition to addressing historical and cultural aspects of Chinese society and Portuguese-speaking countries.
It is a four year programme, with the first and final year taking place at the Polytechnic of Leiria. The second and third years of the course will take place at Beijing Language and Culture University and Macau Polytechnic University, respectively.* In the final year of the programme, students will be given the opportunity to do an internship at renowned organizations and companies in the translation field and in the context of diplomatic relations between Portugal and China.

* The accommodation in Beijing and Macau is provided by the partner institutions as part of the protocol with the Polytechnic of Leiria. The remaining expenses associated with mobility will be covered by the students.
